Interior Designer

Sizemore Group is looking for a dynamic, experienced interior designer to join our team of creative place makers. The ideal candidate has four to 10 years of experience in education, civic and corporate projects and is passionate about designing cultural places and beautiful spaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Modifies and prepares production drawings through construction drawings

  • Coordinates MEP and structural consultants through design and construction

  • Construction administration – review submittals, RFIs, etc.

  • Data analysis

  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards

  • Incorporates integrated sustainable design solutions into projects

  • May mentor and direct the work of staff

  • Prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings

  • Builds models for client/project team review

  • Compiles data and performs elementary design computations

  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices

  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service

  • Material library manager – coordinate with reps to update the library, organize and keep up with library organization, order and return samples, coordinate presentations and lunch and learns

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interior design or related degree, NCIDQ certification or architecture licensed architect.

  • 4-10 years of interior design experience in education, civic and corporate projects

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCad, SketchUp, 3D and other modeling software programs

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign a must)

  • Knowledge of building codes, construction regulations and accessibility design

  • Strong sense of color and scale and conceptual design

  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas

  • Possess strategic space planning and programming skills.

  • Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.

  • Proven ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and provide high quality service to clients.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work in team environment
