Sizemore Group led Carver High School’s renovation to convert the aging historic core of Clark Atlanta University into four separate high schools, creating new technology labs, a cafeteria, and media center. They also provided historic renovations of Leete Hall (originally the Gammon College Seminary), the gymnasium, and converted another historic structure into the home of the Atlanta Public Schools Archives.
When designing a comprehensive renovation of an existing facility to accommodate the the Whitney M. Young, Jr. School of Social Work, Sizemore Group conceived of a solution that features key elements of the original design that had been hidden through previous renovations.
Following Emory’s core design goal of “enlightened frugality,” Sizemore Group created a 90,000-gsf expansion and addition that helped Emory’s School of Business create an identify of place that was different from other campus buildings but still wholly within the Emory idiom.
Sizemore Group oversaw a collaborative approach to design, leading highly collaborative sessions with all KSU College of Education stakeholders to conceptualize a structure that would provide needed additional space and incorporate building materials of existing buildings for a cohesive look.
