City of Riverdale Town Center

City of Riverdale Town Center

City of Riverdale Town Center The image of the City of Riverdale is to be progressive with a new original architectural character by Sizemore Group. The Civic Center which includes a new City Hall, Community Center and the Amphitheater constitutes about 15 acres. The large recreation space doubles as a performance space for 1,000 people. A large divisible meeting space spills out onto an elevated terrace. The Community Center and City Hall are the edges of an amphitheater with an interactive fountain. “We first selected The Sizemore Group after watching them help transform the City of Smyrna into what it is today, and we knew that we needed the same type of catalytic project. We not only wanted our buildings to make a statement, we also needed them to be LEED certified, help the city address utility costs and conserve water, and provide very specific functions. It was clear that we were trying to create something that the metro area hadn’t seen before. “Sizemore made our vision a reality and put the city on the map. They helped us convert a small pocket park into a cultural nexus that has brought new energy to the city. Our new Town Center – which includes a City Hall, community center, amphitheater, and large recreation space – attracts visitors from all over the region and has served as a nucleus for new development.” – Doug Manning, Director of Operations, Butts County Board of Commissioners Office Services Master Planning Programming Architectural Design Construction Administration Project Management Awards AIA Georgia 2013 Merit Design Award Silver in the 2013 Brick in Architecture Awards by the Brick Industry...

Cobb County The Center for Family Resources Retrofit

The Center for Family Resources Retrofit The Center for Family Resources’ extensive design program combines a variety of functions: office space, training rooms/classrooms and career resources all function simultaneously under the same roof. In conjunction with the Center for Family Resources, a full-service Sheltering Arms facility provides convenient daycare for the community and staff. Sizemore Group implemented several design elements to enhance and redevelop the existing big box retail space. Interior skylights were designed and constructed to allow natural daylight to disperse within the space, creating an inviting, calming environment for both the staff and the clients. Catholic Church of St Ann Master Plan and Design

Catholic Church of St Ann Master Plan and Design

Catholic Church of St Ann Master Plan and Design The goal was to analyze the church’s existing facilities and to provide preliminary design services including a new Master Plan, nave renovations, new narthex and youth center additions. Sizemore Group provided a detailed report that summarized the findings and recommendations of collaborative efforts of technical assessment and the parish consensus.  The technical assessment involved architects and engineers interviewing key operations personnel for recommendations on future needs. The collaborative efforts of the parish involved assemblies, surveys, questionnaires and various interviews of the ministry leadership including the Pastor and liturgical consultant. Once funding capacity for the next five to ten years is determined, Sizemore Group will work with the church leadership to review the priorities set forth by the parish community. “‘Different hearts, different lives, one in the name of God; different hurts, different needs, we are one body, one in the name of our God…’ These lyrics to a song we often use best describe who we are and why our church facility is so important to our family of parishioners. Though we all lead different lives, we all come together as one family each week. While some would say the building is unimportant, it very much allows our parishioners to gather in a place they can call ‘home.’ “With that in mind, we contacted The Sizemore Group as one of five possible architects for our 2007 church renovation project, and Sizemore was the one who captured that feeling of a family worship space in their design—the spectacular sanctuary, the curved pews, the new lighting packages, and the unique exterior all...
